**ANIMAPLANOS****,** **is a series of modules that are designed using graphs and pictures that relate a range of simple numerical operations to a number grid of 100 points.**

** ****The relationship between the location of the points and the results obtained via numerical calculus awakens an interest in students for solving arithmetic operations. Students also develop a general appreciation for mathematics, as they realize that through accurate calculations and spatial orientation they produce an aesthetically pleasing image (in the form of a person, animal or object).**** **

- Using fun material, to formulate through learning the mental numerical calculus that is ever more fundamental today given the overuse of calculators.
- Carrying out the proposed modules, students will learn and become familiar with numerous methods and strategies that will allow them to work efficiently with mathematical operations.
- Through continual practice of mental calculus, students develop their own personal strategies allowing them to continually increase the speed at which they form answers and solutions. The result is that students’ memories along with their abilities to figure out solutions begin to harmonize together.
- Supporting calculus within a limited number of basic combinations allows students to markedly improve their memory retention skills as they repeatedly work with familiar mathematical operations.
- Students discover fun aspects to learning mathematics, allowing them to assimilate numerical calculus as part of a rewarding routine, the result being a more participative attitude than is customary.
- Incorporating national curriculum standards in mathematics with the teacher-learning process, facilitating the work of teachers.

*ANIMAPLANOS *awakens in students enables the development of the following skills:

- Concentration, positive habits, attention and interest. These are key factors in achieving spectacular results in the graphic and operational number grids.
- Numerical visualization that allows the structure of mental, numerical and operational images.
